Linen fabrics by the metre: what type of fabric?

There are several types of linen weave, which result in many different looks:

Mesh linen, or Jersey

Mesh linen, also called Jersey, is a fabric that is not woven but knitted from linen thread. It is very pleasant to wear either as clothing or as a scarf.

Yarn-dyed linen fabric

Yard-dyed linen fabric is a fabric that has been woven with pre-dyed thread. This dyeing and weaving method makes it possible to give fabrics a more beautiful and uniform colour. Besides this, during weaving, the thread used for the warp is often not the same colour as the one used for the weft. So the fabric displays iridescent colours.
